I bought this book for my oldest daughter when she graduated from college 3 years ago. Thanks to Wood's book, she is managing her finances really well. She is a Ph.D. student with no credit card debt, savings, and a Roth IRA! Just the exact opposite of my situation when I was her age and a Ph.D. student myself. It's taken me decades to learn what my daughter already knows thanks to Wood's book. I'm writing this review as I'm getting ready to order a copy for her sister, who is a senior in college.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Guide for Our Time, July 29, 2013

As we age, we see many younger people who are living in the present and not storing up for their future. Your life passes so quickly from the young productive years to the "Golden Years". We feel that we have lived in the best of times, but this is not so for future Seniors as their savings may be eaten away by rising costs. This book is a good guide to use for planning for leaner times that I fear is facing them. Read the book with an open mind and take the parts that you honestly feel that you can implement into your life and then do it. Your later years may become more "Golden" than others if you do.

4.0 out of 5 stars Future so Bright, December 9, 2016

I am a 47 y.o. male who has already retired once and I bought this book to give to a 25 y.o. niece that has just graduated college. I wanted to read it first before I gave it to her as a gift. I must say I was quite impressed and I have used 80% of what the book talks about in real life so I do recommend this book for people in their 20's trying to get things in check before the move on to the next chapter in life. Ok I gave it 4 star because there was 20% of what the book talks about I found a bit hard to follow when it came to certain investments and the profit-interest one can gain from them. But overall still an excellent book. I recommend both the seller and the book!
